training: funding
As a veterinary pathologist in training, you may be expected to complete a small research project. The ECVP expects candidates to have published one paper on veterinary pathology in a peer-reviewed journal of veterinary pathology. The BBSRC, The Wellcome Trust and the MRC are the major research funding bodies in the UK.
For smaller amounts of money (approximately £1000), you may wish to apply to the following organisations:
Funding for three year veterinary pathology training residencies (generally at the UK veterinary schools) is sporadic and variable. However, the The Home of Rest for Horses (contact Douglas Hylton), GSK and Idexx have funded residencies in the past.
