Testimonials from previous support grant recipients

This placement has been extremely valuable for my training, helping me gain confidence in ocular pathology and practical skills such as trimming and evaluating samples. Working with such a wide range of cases, including rare or region-specific diseases, has broadened my diagnostic experience and made me more confident in writing detailed pathology reports. I would like to thank my residency supervisor, Richard Blundell, the University of Milan pathology team, in particular Dr. Chiara Giudice, and the British Society of Veterinary Pathologists for their support and for providing me with this valuable opportunity.

Looking back, the 22nd ECVP Summer School was far more than a training course. It was two weeks of intense academic learning, professional networking, and cultural exploration. The experience was both rewarding and demanding. It required stamina and the willingness to keep engaging even after long hours of teaching, but those challenges were exactly what made it so formative. I am deeply grateful to the BSVP for supporting my attendance, and I would encourage any resident to take the opportunity if it comes their way.

This five-day intensive course was an outstanding experience, both academically and professionally. The program was extremely well-structured and intellectually demanding, covering a wide range of topics and materials that directly support ACVP Phase II preparation. I am sincerely grateful for having had the opportunity to attend such a well-organized and enriching course.

Above and beyond the studies I cherished meeting residents and pathology PhD students from across numerous countries. Sharing our knowledge and experiences brought insight into new ways of approaching cases but, more importantly, brought perspective to my residency as I could see how residents at different stages were tackling final exam preparation, job hunting and negotiating the field of pathology outside their institutions.
