The role

Bristol Veterinary School is seeking to recruit a leading pathologist with vision and commitment to drive veterinary pathology research and teaching for the 21st century.

The post is advertised from Senior Lecturer to Professor level, and is based at Bristol Veterinary School on the University of Bristol’s Langford campus, within the Faculty of Health Sciences.

What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will lead the Veterinary Pathology Unit . They will have an existing track record in leading research commensurate with the level and will be expected to continue to execute a relevant research programme complementary to the School’s research strategy and interfacing with the research strengths of the School’s research communities and the wider Faculty of Health Sciences. The appointee will also have the remit to spearhead the development of synergies between fundamental and pre-clinical research and clinical pathology for enhancing collaborative research programmes across the School/University.

This post will involve didactic and practical teaching of veterinary pathology to undergraduate and postgraduate veterinary students.

The successful applicant will have a strong track record of publication and grant funding success on a clear upward trajectory. The appointee will be expected to develop and consolidate a research group in this area, forging collaborations internally and externally, and will teach on the School’s undergraduate and taught postgraduate courses as well as supervise postgraduate research students.

They will have a veterinary qualification that can be registered with the RCVS, a PhD and current board status in veterinary pathology (FRCPath, Dip ECVP, Dip ACVP or FACVSc) as well as experience of leadership.
